World Alzheimer’s Day

21st Sep 2021

Every year on September 21st, World Alzheimer’s Day, Alzheimer’s groups all around the world focus their efforts on raising awareness about Alzheimer’s and dementia. Alzheimer’s disease is the most common type of dementia, which is a collection of illnesses that impair mental function. Alzheimer’s disease strikes someone every 65 seconds. Experts estimate that the number of people living with Alzheimer’s disease would double to 16 million by 2050 if current trends continue. Because the persistent hardship of watching a loved one progressively deteriorate affects everyone, Alzheimer’s disease is sometimes referred to as a family disease.
